![]() So it really shouldn't be slowing anything down even with real time scan enabled. Under normal conditions when Trend isn't running a scan it only uses 10-11 MB of memory and shows no CPU usage. Its under agent management then settings > Trusted Program List. I would also try added the specific application to the trusted program list in Trend. We have ours set to check for updates every 4 hours. Make sure your agents aren't being updated every 15 minutes. We have ours set at the default 2 and 3 layers.Īlso check your agent update settings. Also check that it isn't scanning 10 layers deep into compressed files or OLE objects. Make sure only file types scanned by intelliscan is checked. I would check these settings in your agent configuration. On my computer which is a i7 and 8 gigs of RAM I don't notice anything but on some older machines I can tell the computer is working harder. The only time I notice any slowdown really is during the automatic scan that runs once a week. We have around 250 agents installed and have a weekly antivirus scan that runs on all of them. So far I haven't tested the firewall portion. We are only using the antivirus, web reputation, damage cleanup services, behavior monitoring though. We're running the latest version of OfficeScan 11 and have never really noticed any slowdown. Does it create any temp files/folders on the local machine? That may need to be excluded from scanning. My guess, based on what you shared already is that you need to exclude something locally for that application running from the server. Aside from the one application taking a long time, is there other evidence of performance issues, or are you generalizing total performance just based on this single application being slow?.Are these desktops running any other applications, especially anything custom or industry unique?.Can you confirm which version of OfficeScan you installed, and whether or not you installed any service packs and/or hot fixes?.Generally speaking performance issues like this are the result of conflicts between real-time scanning and some application on the system, or inadequate hardware. Can anyone point me in the right direction what to try first? I already added F:\ to the exclusion list but "scan network drives" wasn't checked anyway, and it didn't improve things. ![]() This happens each time we move to a new AV system and I have to end up tweaking the exclusions list or turning off features to strike a performance/security balance. One of our main applications runs from a mapped network drive (F:) and it went from taking about 20 seconds to launch to now over 5 minutes (I timed it). In each case the machine slows down to the point where it's almost unusable.
